It takes 20 or 30 seconds to go from being out of the European Championship to feeling a huge difference in mood, and we’ll see what impact it has on the team in the future. It’s a significant moment, but since it’s a long tournament, we’ll only be able to determine its importance in the next two weeks,” mentioned Jude Bellingham in the post-match interview.

“When it’s that late in the game and you’re 1-0 down in a knockout match, you need to find a way to dig yourself out of the hole you’re in. That moment ranks right up there. Scoring that kind of goal at that time to keep our dreams alive is one of the best. Jude Bellingham, What a player. To score that type of goal in that moment just shows the type of person he is. It’s not easy to progress at any stage, so reaching the quarter-final is very satisfying. Hopefully, we can build on the momentum and carry it forward,” said England captain Harry Kane, who scored the winning goal for The Three Lions.

England vs Slovakia ‘More Pride Than Disappointment’: Slovakia Coach

Although Slovakia’s Euro 2024 journey has come to an end, their head coach Francesco Calzona is immensely proud of his team and mentioned that they were very ‘unlucky’ in their loss against England.

“I feel more pride than disappointment because we played a great match against a top team who are among the favourites to win the tournament. We were on par with them, we conceded very little, but unfortunately, the result didn’t go our way in the end. During extra time, we were in their half of the field for almost the entire duration. I’m proud that we pushed them to defend and brought on extra defenders to protect the lead,” said Calzona.
